Bajoran investigators finds some remnant DNA around the site of the stolen time crystals. Help them analyze it for a possible identity. Your crew successfully analyzes the remnant DNA, but the results deepen the mystery. They show that it comes from no known living species and may have been constructed in a lab to look Klingon. Your crew fails at collecting enough DNA evidence for any useful analysis, and the scene has already been too sullied to gather any more.

Assist in ferrying valuable data from undercover Bajoran informants who may have witnessed the crystals. A series of encrypted messages arrives safely at Starfleet headquarters that detail the last known location of the crystals. The identities of the Bajoran agents or their sources are never revealed. After several delays, scraps of data arrive at Starfleet headquarters. It's clear from the information who the Bajoran sources are, putting their lives in imminent danger.

The Bajorans have offered to send out scouts to search for the ship Worf left Boreth in, however they request assistance from you with coordination so they don't overlap in their search patterns. Your crew manages to design a highly effective search pattern so that no ship ever repeats searching the same area of space more than twice. After several Bajoran ships arrive in the same sector at once, your team's effectiveness is questioned. They're taken off the mission and replaced with other Bajorans.

The monks of Boreth are distrustful after the theft, but the Bajoran militia has offered temporary added security during the investigation. The Bajorans ask for your help convincing the Klingons of their value. Your crew convinces the Klingon monks that, if it's true Worf is the thief, then the threat may come from within. They see that a disinterested third party may indeed be useful as security until the search is over. The Boreth monks take deep umbrage at such a suggestion, believing it's a great dishonor. They threaten to expel the investigators entirely if it's ever mentioned again.

Feeling sympathetic for the monks of Boreth in their time of grief and confusion, the Bajoran vedeks want to offer them comfort. They request assistance assuaging the fears of the Klingons so they can join them. Remarkably, your away team convinces the Klingon monks that the vedeks mean well and can be of assistance. Despite coming from very different religions, the vedeks demonstrate proper respect and humility to the monastery. The Boreth monks reject the vedeks' offer, saying that Bajorans are much too weak and would never have the proper perspective to be of any help.

Bajoran scientists offer to track any unusual increases in chronal shifts that may be the result of time crystal use. They request assistance setting up and observing the data. After an extensive period setting up the laboratory technology, your team develops a good rapport with the Bajoran scientists who compliment their skills an interpreting chronal data. There are several accidents while setting up the equipment which lead to miscalibrations. Eventually the incorrect results are caught, but it's possible some events may have been missed in the meantime.

Bajoran engineers can retrofit ships with specialized sensors that can pick up the time crystals' residual emanations. They request your crew's help installing and calibrating the equipment. Working closely with the Bajoran engineers, your crew swiftly installs the sensors. The ships' initial voyages soon manage to pick up a trail, providing a break in the search. Due to differences in technology styles between Bajor and Starfleet, installing the new sensors causes several ship wide malfunctions. The project is suspended indefinitely.

Major Kira suggests that some of the Bajoran militia's old smuggling contacts from the days of the occupation could be contacted to hear if the crystals are being sold off. After messaging several of Kira's former contacts, your team establishes a relationship with a smuggler who promises to send along any information he receives. For a price, of course. Despite Major Kira giving her approval, the old smugglers feel skittish working with members of Starfleet and refuse to pass along any information.

Klingons generally try to present a self-sufficient image, but they recognize the Federation's technology is one of its strengths. They request a thorough examination of the crime scene using your scanning tech. Your away team effectively preserves the scene and gathers impeccable evidence about how the theft was committed. The monks of Boreth are impressed when you give them the report. Before all the evidence can be collected, an ensign walks through the crime scene. Your report is incomplete, which irritates the Klingons and makes them suspicious of your motives.

Although the prays [sic] revealed no great insights from Kahless, the Klingons are deeply grateful for your respect and service. They pledge their support in hunting down the thief. During a particularly somber moment in the Klingon religious ritual, a member of your away team knocks over a large statue of Kahless, causing an enormous crash. The team flees before the Klingons can take vengeance.

Your team believes they can create time crystal tracking technology, but Tenavik feels hesitant to allow access to the remaining crystals. Convince him that it's in his best interest to provide a sample. Your science team uses their knowledge of Klingon culture to show Tenavik this is the honorable path. He gladly offers a slice of crystal, which is more than enough to develop the tracker. Bluntly and without grace, your away team demands access to the crystals. Tenavik declares they've dishonored the monastery and kicks them out permanently.

The Timekeepers of Boreth believe it was Worf who stole the crystals, but don't know which one. They request that you interview every version of Worf you can find to establish alibis. Your away team finds the location of every known version of Worf and convinces them to give an alibi. They can all account for their whereabouts and even provide the names of witnesses. Your away team's questioning tactics irritate several Worfs, who feel dishonored to be even considered a suspect and refuse to answer.

The Timekeepers worry that knowledge of the time crystals out in the open will send more thieves to their door. They request you scan subspace channels for anyone discussing the crystals. Your communications team collects information about specific keywords and mentions of Boreth on various subspace and common communications channels. Although no one is discussing the crystals now, that may change. Your communications team fails to pick up any mention of the crystals which makes them worry the potential thieves might be using encrypted channels, which worries the monks even more.

A request comes from Section 31 that while you're investigating the crime on Boreth, you procure a small sample of time crystal for their own research. They need to stay ahead in the temporal arms race, and this is their chance. While performing legitimate investigations, your away team manages to smuggle out a sliver of time crystal. Section 31 sends a report that the crystal will secure a better future for all of Starfleet. Your away team fumbles the attempt to surreptitiously cut a chunk of time crystal. The Timekeepers notice immediately, and they end up in the monastery dungeon awaiting trial.

Section 31 keeps records of every criminal that has somehow used time travel to break the law. Philippa Georgiou plans on giving them each a visit, and requests assistance with interrogating them. Each visit that your away team does with Georgiou seems to be fruitless, until finally someone mentions hearing about a huge new heist about to go down. Although just rumors, it provides a strong starting point. Either Section 31's database is out of date, or someone has tipped almost everyone off that your team was coming. No one is around to answer any questions, which sends Georgiou into fits of anger.

Section 31 plans on recovering the crystals for themselves, but they need containment units so their agents don't go mad when handling them. Design the units to hold the crystals without affecting any research. Your engineering team devises small, portable containment vessels with chroniton reflective shielding. Agents are now able to pick up and store the crystals without direct contact. Your team presents some prototype containment units, but rigorous testing shows frequent failures in the designs. Section 31 scraps the idea before exposing its agents to the crystals' maddening effects.

Section 31's Daedalus Project generated tons of data concerning the time crystals that may provide useful when attempting to track them. Search through the data for any details that will help. Your science team identifies a unique energy signature that resonates for longer distances than what would be expected and can be tracked for light years. The discovery is immediately helpful at following the crystals' path. After days of closely reading the research, your team is no closer to finding anything useful for tracking the crystals. Section 31 revokes their clearance to read the files and sends them home.

You're told that Section 31 has a witness in custody who they claim knows about who stole the time crystals. But, they're having difficulty getting him to spill the information. They request you send a medical unit to assist in memory extraction. Your medical team arrives and prepares the witness for memory extraction. As they begin to take out the device, the person starts to tell Agent Leland everything they know. Your medical crew's attempts at memory extraction prove to be unsuccessful and have lead to some physical damage to the witness. Section 31 calls off the procedure, claiming they'll find another way.

He emerges from the shadows and hands over the information he has on the crystals. There's disagreement within the team about how to crack the code, but they decide on an approach. When they show up to what they believe is the location, Sloan is no where to be found. He never contacts you again.

Section 31 embeds agents everywhere across the quadrant in every stratum of power. Reach out to them to hear if they've heard anything about the stolen time crystals. Word is out that some big name thief just scored some strange time-bending doodads, but there's no name or location. Your team directly contacts an undercover agent, blowing her cover and exposing her. She's forced to immediately evacuate the planet before she can be assassinated.
