The Augment Cure Medicine

Science
Command
AND
Diplomacy
Science
OR
Security
The Klingons' attempt at genetic engineering went horribly, resulting in the Augment virus and leading to the great enmity between the Klingons and the Augments today. The Augments hope to heal these wounds by showing the Klingons that they, too, can be enhanced safely. Assist the Augments in their research. Eureka! Your away team and the Augments have created a new breed of super strong, super intelligent, super hardy Klingon, with every ridge in sight. Your away team and the Augments have unfortunately failed again, creating a horrible new virus in which Klingon ridges spread over the face, eventually causing death.
The Bashir Factor Security
AND
Medicine
Medicine Security Julian Bashir is an excellent example of human genetic enhancement without side effects. The Augments need his support, but it will only be gained through modification of Bashir's attitude. Help capture Bashir so Augment physicians may perform this "adjustment." Your away team successfully captured a version of Julian Bashir and delivered him to the Augments. Now released, Bashir is publicly speaking out on the benefits of the Augments' genetic engineering procedures. Your away team is identified trying to kidnap Julian Bashir. Only the actions of skilled diplomats on your crew save them from court-martial.
Becoming the Hunted Security
AND
Medicine
Security Medicine
OR
Science
Command The Tosk were bred purely as prey for the Hunters--but what if the Tosk were genetically engineered to always outsmart their predators? Help Augment scientists turn the hunters into the hunted. Though it proved difficult to capture a Tosk, once captured, the procedure was a success. Thanks to the Augments and your away team, the Hunters are now running FROM the Tosk, their former prey. Your away team was unable to capture a single Tosk, and thus unable to attempt turning them from prey to predator via genetic enhancement.
Breaking the Cycle Security
OR
Command
Security Diplomacy The Jem'Hadar are dependant on the Founders for the ketracel white they need to live. But the Augments have a plan to win their loyalty by genetically engineering this dependency out of the next generation. Convince the Jem'Hadar to hear the Augments out. Your away team convinced a cautious few Jem'Hadar to undergo the Augments' procedures with excellent results. These Jem'Hadar are no longer addicted to ketracel white, and are spreading the news to others. Your away team is unable to convince any Jem'Hadar to trust the Augments. In fact, the two groups nearly come to blows when the Jem'Hadar threaten to inform the founders of the treachery.
Darwin's Children Command
AND
Diplomacy
Medicine Security Security The children spawned at Darwin Station are perfect Augment specimens, but their lethal antibodies caused the Federation to place them into quarantine until a cure could be found. The Augments plan to spring the children loose to join them—with your away team's help, of course. Together, your away team and the Augments have freed the children of Darwin Station from quarantine. They now live among the Augments freely, though their contact with other species remains limited. Even together, your away team and the Augments were unable to breach the quarantine. The children of Darwin Station remain prisoners, unable to truly connect with anyone outside their small group.
For Comparison's Sake Science
OR
Engineering
Diplomacy
AND
Security
Command The Augments want to prove that despite the Eugenics Wars, they are the superior version of humanity. To do this, they need pre-twenty-first century unmodified humans, preferably as limited as possible. Your away team has been asked to find them. Your away team has recovered Amelia Earhart, Lord Byron, and Mahatma Gandhi for the Augments, who are unimpressed, as they hoped to be. Your away team is unable to locate any pre-twenty-first century unmodified humans for the Augments to compare themselves against. The Augments are unimpressed, in a bad way.
Genetic Weapons Command Diplomacy
OR
Security
Diplomacy
OR
Security
Brunali Icheb was genetically engineered with a pathogen designed to destroy the Borg. This is precisely the kind of application the Augments ultimately desire, and they must have Icheb to study. A Starfleet away team might be able to convince-or force-the young man. Your away team convinced Icheb that what his parents did to him will never be done to another child, only a willing adult. Thus, he agreed to be studied by the Augments. Your away team was unable to convince a horrified Icheb that Augment children would not also unknowingly be used as a weapon as he was. He is being protected by Seven of Nine.
Man Versus Self Engineering
OR
Command
Security Security Academics, physicians, and armchair philosophers debate: which is the best half of a hybrid? Or is the hybrid itself superior? The Augments have decided to find out via Klingons versus Humans versus the original hybrid, in the arena. Your away team must act as combatants. Your way team was trounced in some matches and victorious in others, but accomplished its ultimate goal: helping the Augments determine the strongest version of a hybrid. Your away team was easily defeated by the control group of humans. The Augments ban them from the arena in disgust.
Organic Enhancement Engineering Command
AND
Diplomacy
Diplomacy As far as the Augments are concerned, the Suliban have perfected the art of genetic enhancement thanks to their mysterious benefactor. The Augments hope to make contact with this benefactor, with Starfleet's help. Your away team has managed to make contact with the Suliban's mysterious benefactor, who has agreed to instruct the Augments on similar enhancements—in exchange for a future favor he declines to identify at this time. Your away team has been unable to make contact with the Suliban Cabal's mysterious benefactor. Or perhaps they have--he just isn't listening.
Press-Ganged Diplomacy Security
AND
Command
Security Genetic enhancement has been safe and legal on Denobula for centuries. The Augments desire the aid of Denobulan scientists, and they won't take no for an answer. A Starfleet away team could easily "escort" these scientists back to the Augments. Your away team successfully captures and delivers several Denobulan scientists to an Augment facility, where they will carry out their research -- or else. Your away team is identified trying to kidnap Denobulan scientists. Only the actions of skilled diplomats on your crew save them from court-martial.

Best of the Best Science
OR
Medicine
Diplomacy Diplomacy
AND
Command
Genetic engancement has been safe and legal on Denobula for centuries, and the Ferengi need to know what they know. A Starfleet away team could convince a few Denobulan scientists to help. Your away team convinced a group of Denobulan scientists to advise the Ferengi on species reassignment -- in exchange for funding a study of their choice. Your away team was unable to convince any Denobulan scientists to help. Every being has its price, according to the Rules of Acquisition--you'll just have to find it.
Galactic Idol Engineering Diplomacy Command The Ferengi have seized upon the entertainment potential of letting the public decide the best species for an individual seeking reassignment, and launched a televised competition: Choose My Species! Help promote this show throughout the Federation. Your away team's support for Choose My Species! has made it a hit across the Alpha Quadrant. DIALOGUE FAIL
Learning and Growing Science
OR
Security
Diplomacy Diplomacy Genetic enhancement took Julian Bashir from the bottom of the class to Deep Space Nine. What could it do for your child? Have a team help the Ferengi promote this new spin on genetic enhancement. Your away team's efforts have countless parents traveling to Ferengi space in the hopes of helping their children get ahead via genetic enhancement. DIALOGUE FAIL
Logic Is for Paupers Engineering Command
OR
Medicine
Command
AND
Security
Security Several Vulcans who support genetic enhancement have started making logical arguments for it. But as the ninety-sixth Rule of Acquisition says, "Nothing muddies the river or profit worse than clarity." Convince these Vulcans to show their support silently. Your away team counters logic with logic, and convinces Vulcan supporters of genetic enhancement to offer funding and resources rather than speeches. Your away team's arguments are not logical, and therefore ignored by Vulcan supporters of genetic enhancement. They will continue to speak out on the subject.
Moogie Mayhem Command
OR
Medicine
Security
OR
Medicine
Diplomacy The real Ishka--also known as Moogie--has declared the surgically created Ishka--also known as Quark--to be an abomination. The Ferengi need respected Starfleet officers to defend The Ishka Formerly Known as Quark as just as valid a person as the original Ishka herself. Your away team succeeds in arguing that both Ishkas are equally valid Ferengi females with all the same (limited) rights afforded to them under Grand Nagus Brunt. DIALOGUE FAIL
The Perfect Worker Command
OR
Security
Command Diplomacy The inhabitants of Moab IV are genetically engineered to perform certain tasks, Workers who believe their jobs are an intrinsic part of their identity and should never be shirked or altered? The Ferengi cannot imagine a better state of affairs, and would like Starfleet officers to make the introductions. Thanks to your away team, Moab IV officials and the Ferengi Traditionalists are on track to trade both knowledge and profits. Moab IV has heard a lot about the Ferengi Traditionalists, and none of it good. Despite your away team's efforts, they refuse to meet with Grand Nagus Brunt or his representatives.
Poaching the Competition Command
AND
Diplomacy
Diplomacy Command Arik Soong is one of the pioneers in genetic enhancement research-but he's currently working with the Augments. The Ferengi are convinced this isn't anything a few bars of latinum and better facilities couldn't change. Send a team to make the offer to Soong. Your away team's generous offer on behalf of the Ferengi Traditionalists convinces Soong to switch sides--if only to get more research done. Your away team is unable to convince Arik Soong that the Traditionalists will offer him any more freedom to decide what to research than the Augments do.
Smooth and Polished Diplomacy Command Command
AND
Engineering
Command
AND
Diplomacy
The Son'a utilized genetic enhancement to stay alive, but they aren't exactly role models. Have a few Starfleet officers work with the Ferengi to transform the Son'a's "image." Your away team has polished Gallatin's image and made him the new Son'a spokesperson. As he condemns Ru'afo and talks about growing up Ba'ku, public opinion of both the Son'a and genetic enhancement begins to shift. Your away team has been unable to make the galaxy perceive the Son'a as anything other than ruthless schemers willing to sell out their own families for the fountain of youth.
Starfleet Wants You! Security
OR
Science
Medicine Command
AND
Diplomacy
Genetically enhanced individuals remain barred from serving in Starfleet. This must be overturned if the Ferengi are to maximize their profits. Find a few Starfleet officers willing to fight for reforms. Your away team has convinced Starfleet Command to hold hearings on whether to overturn the ban on genetically enhanced individuals serving in Starfleet. Despite your away team's entreaties, Starfleet Command holds firm on the ban against genetically enhanced individuals serving in Starfleet.
Vorta Spokesmen Command
AND
Security
Diplomacy
OR
Command
Diplomacy Every good campaign needs a likeable spokesman, and the Ferengi like the Vorta's style. A Starfleet away team might be more successful in convincing the Vorta to promote species reassignment. Convinced by your away team of the benefits in making an alliance between the Traditionalists and the Dominion, Weyoun and his fellow Vorta happily evangelize about the benefits of species reassignment. DIALOGUE FAIL

Back to Basics Command
AND
Security
Diplomacy Command The Angosians, a pacifist people, were forced to genetically engineer a portion of their population to be violent in order to win the Tarsian War. The alteration of one's pre-established nature is naturally of great interest to the Cardassians, and they need a Starfleet introduction to these people. Thanks to your away team, the Angosians are certain that the Cardassians' intentions in studying their genetic engineering programs are pacifist in nature—whether they truly are or not. DIALOGUE FAIL
Carbon Creek Diplomacy
AND
Science
Science
OR
Engineering
Diplomacy The Vulcans who found themselves stranded on 1950s Earth with no prior knowledge of humanity nonetheless integrated into Carbon Creek. The Cardassians must study them to further refine their work in identity reassignment. Help recruit T'Mir, Mestral, and Stron. Through logic and reason, your away team has convinced T'Mir, Mestral, and Stron to share their experiences in Carbon Creed with Cardassian researchers. Your away team's arguments were illogical. T'Mir, Mestral, and Stron refuse to share their experiences in Carbon Creek with anyone other than Vulcan authorities.
Corporate Espionage Engineering
OR
Science
Diplomacy
AND
Command
Diplomacy Genetic enhancement has been safe and legal on Denobula for centuries--why should the Cardassians reinvent the wheel? Unfortunately, the Denobulans have declined to share their knowledge with the Cardassians, which means it must be obtained by other means. Your away team made a 'diplomatic' visit to Denobula and returned to Cardassia with centuries of Denobulan research on genetic enhancement. The Cardassians are grateful and the Denobulans more the wiser. DIALOGUE FAIL
The Emissary's Visions Medicine Science
OR
Medicine
Diplomacy
AND
Command
Diplomacy Benjamin Sisko was subject to many visions at the hands of the Prophets, not least of which an elaborate twentieth century Earth fantasy in which he was a writer and many of his close alien acquaintances human. Convince Sisko to share these experiences with Cardassian scientists. Your away team's respectful discourse convinces Sisko to trust the Cardassians with his precious memories, in the hope of helping others. Your away team is unable to convince Sisko to trust the Cardassians with his precious memories, which are too important to him to risk enabling some Cardassian machination.
Icheb, My Boy Diplomacy
OR
Command
Security Command Brunali Icheb was genetically engineered with a pathogen designed to destroy the Borg. Though the Cardassians are focused on the mental aspects of species reassignment, they recognize the worth in such a tangent. Convince a version of Icheb to be studied. Your away team convinced Icheb that what his parents did to him will never be done to another child, only a willing adult. Thus, he agreed to be studied by the Cardassians. DIALOGUE FAIL
Major Troi Science
OR
Medicine
Diplomacy
AND
Command
Diplomacy Deanna Troi was given everything she needed to become Romulan Major Rakal. Could a revived Major Rakal be similarly transformed into half-Betazoid Starfleet officer Deanna Troi? Convince a version of Rakal and Troi to participate in the Cardassians' experiment. Your away team has convinced both the resurrected Rakal and Deanna Troi to participate in the Cardassians' experiment, which is a success. Rakal is now Troi, and Troi is now Rakal, despite outward appearances. Your away team is unable to convince Deanna Troi or the resurrected Major Rakal to participate in the Cardassians' identity replacement experiment.
Reprogramming Science
OR
Medicine
Engineering
AND
Diplomacy
Engineering Holograms are subject to the whims of their creators, who can change anything from species to personality with a simple command. The Cardassians wonder if a cybernetic implant could allow an organic's perception to change as easily. Assist the Cardassians with their experiments. Together, your away team and the Cardassians have succeeded in fusing some of the principles of hologram technology into identity reassignment in an organic. This research shows serious promise. DIALOGUE FAIL
Spreading the Light Command Command
AND
Security
Science
AND
Engineering
In a few hours, Captain Picard lived a lifetime as Kamin, a resident of the doomed planet of Kataan. The Cardassians believe the key to giving individuals' new identities and new memories lies in the Kataan probe that triggered the experience. Procure it for the Cardassians. Your away team has successfully procured and delivered the Kataan probe from Federation storage to Cardassian authorities. They promise to treat the probe gingerly in their studies. Your away team is unable to access the Kataan probe, locked away in Federation storage.
The Talosian Cage Security Diplomacy
AND
Command
Command Though the Talosians' fantasy world was first a cage to Christopher Pike, post-injury it became a perfect escape. The Cardassians wish to study the Talosians, but travel to their homeworld is greatly restricted. Help secure the necessary permits. Your away team has convinced the Federation to allow the Cardassians to approach Talos IV and carry out their research on the Talosians' amazing abilities. Your away team is unable to convince the Federation to allow the Cardassians to approach Talos IV, and they even send starships to guard the surrounding space in case the Cardassians make the attempt anyway.
A True Malcorian Command Diplomacy Medicine
AND
Science
Medicine William Riker was exposed to the Malcorians via his lack of in-depth knowledge about the species as well as a lack of in-depth physical transformation. The Cardassians want to fully transform Riker to a Malcorian and see if they can do better. Aid them in this endeavor. Your away team and the Cardassians' efforts are a success: Rivas Jakara is never suspected to be anything other than a full Malcorian, and first contact with this species goes quite differently. Your away team's efforts are unfortunately for naught: Rivas Jakara is still outed as Commander Riker in disguise, and first contact with the Malcorians remains a bumpy affair.
