Storyline

Announcement

Spock’s family reveals that a version of Spock has been traveling across time and space, interfering with Starfleet missions, often for the worse. While Spock’s family tries to make contact with him, delve into Vulcan history with Starfleet (and the history of an alternate universe where humanity reigns supreme) to try and determine what has prompted Spock’s surprising quest. [1]

Prologue

  • Prospect Michael Burnham: "Spock is acting illogically. He has obtained a spacesuit capable of acting as both temporal and interstellar method of transportation, and been observed interfering in several Starfleet operations, in the past, present, and future."
  • Amanda Grayson: "Spock is acting troubled. There is a difference, Michael. Emotional reasons are just as valid as others. But I don't know what would have made him want to interfere with Starfleet's mission."
  • Dignitary Sarek: "Once you eliminate the logical, whatever remains, however illogical, must be the truth--isn't that the saying? Let us delve first into Vulcan and human history. If there is nothing logical there, then we can examine Spock's... mental state."

Intermission

  • EV Suit Spock: "Your confusion is understandable, but does not require alleviation. Do not attempt to disrupt my actions. I have made the only choice that I can."
  • Amanda Grayson: "Wait, Spock, we... ugh! How could he just fly off like that? He owes his mother, at least, an explanation!"
  • Choice A
    • Captain: "When did this start? Was there anything that triggered it?"
  • Choice B
    • Captain: "How disruptive is this, really? Can't we just let Spock be?"
    • Prospect Michael Burnham: "We cannot plan for the future without understanding the past. Spock is changing the past, according to his... whims."
  • Choice C
    • Captain: "It all starts in the home. No offense."
    • Amanda Grayson: "A valid point. Maybe this is a version of Spock who didn't grow up in my home."
  • Dignitary Sarek: "There was no obvious catalyst for Spock's actions. But perhaps we can find one if we can identify a commonality between the disruptions he has chosen to create."

Epilogue

  • Dignitary Sarek: "The common thread, it would seem, is Spock himself--not as the disruptor, but as a previous, present, or future participant in these Starfleet missions. Spock is attempting to negate not Starfleet, but specifically himself within Starfleet."
  • Amanda Grayson: "Oh, Spock... why would he do this? We should have told him how proud we were of him. We should have told him every day--"
  • Prospect Michael Burnham: "This is an extreme act to take in response to benign parental neglect. There is a deeper explanation here. It is only... logical."
