Delete something

Hi Jello, do you have a template or a list, were I can mark bad files, doubles and articles? --John Flame (talk) 07:03, 28 March 2016 (CDT)

Anyone that needs a page, graphic, or anything else deleted, please post it here. I will take care of it. Jello (talk) 21:54, 28 May 2016 (CDT)
NOTE: Please now use this page, as Jello is no longer active: User talk:Crunch#Delete_something --Crunch (talk) 17:49, 13 March 2017 (CDT)
Anything that needs to be deleted, please add the template: {{Delete}} to, and ideally specify the reason. If its a large number of items and you dont want to add the template, please post on the Admin_noticeboard and an Admin will delete the pages shortly. Thanks, Titantalk 00:10, 14 March 2017 (CDT)

Diplomatic Dress Uniform (Voy)

I noticed on Diplomatic Dress Uniform (VOY) You have the grey shirt for basic, then white for the rest, well I just looked at Sniper Ezri Dax's recipie, and it shows the white dress for Basic, no grey shirt. And which a duplication is happening on Starfleet Diplomacy Uniform (DS9)...

Yes, the same thing is happeing at Starfleet Diplomacy Uniform (DS9). File:StarfleetDiplomacyUniformDS9Basic.png says, Captain Janeway is using the grey basic variant, but in her table there is no basic version of Starfleet Diplomacy Uniform (DS9). It probably got changed? So the image can be reverted now? --Crunch (talk) 18:16, 14 June 2016 (CDT)

.css

The Advanced Search Page is white font on white background (Chrome, Linux). I am not allowed to edit the MediaWiki .css files, could you please add a background color for that? Thanks! --Crunch (talk) 07:40, 28 May 2016 (CDT)

I continue to search for the CSS code that defines that white background. All style references in the html output page do nothing when changed (added to the vector.css or trying to force override the style in the common.css file. Jello (talk) 11:31, 18 June 2016 (CDT)

Rom

Rom is actually the best 2-star Alien Engineer there is, level him! ;-) (at full max, guaranteed min of 417, as opposed to 404 of Data, or 379 of Wildman) he's not Starfleet, though. --Crunch (talk) 14:31, 31 May 2016 (CDT)

I've still got Rom at L1. I use Data since he can be for Starfleet and Alien. I haven't airlocked Rom yet though. Should I ever have spare resources I may level him at some point. Jello (talk) 11:31, 18 June 2016 (CDT)

Skills

You put Medicine at the end of the skills list on Skills - is there a reason? In the app Medicine comes before Science, and Science is the last one. --Crunch (talk) 13:07, 2 June 2016 (CDT)

I put it in the correct order. It's another little mess-up from DB - in the crew manifest, the sort options show MED then SCI. BUT, if you look at every crew member with both skills, SCI always comes above MED. If you look at the crew page, it is listed in the proper order of the game and how crew members always show precedence of skills: CMD, DIP, ENG, SEC, SCI, MED Jello (talk) 16:15, 2 June 2016 (CDT)
Well, we cannot know WHICH is the incorrect order - the one in the manifest, or the one at the crew member - either one could be wrong ;-) The crew page doesn't really count, as it's community-generated, and therefore not official.
When playing, one constantly uses the toggles in the manifest, so MED should come for SCI. However, one could argue that for wiki maintenance it might be slightly less confusing to put MED after SCI, as people are always looking at the stats, comparing them to the tables in the wiki. So I guess we could leave it as it is now. --Crunch (talk) 16:42, 2 June 2016 (CDT)
As I said, we do actually know which is the correct order. The game (at least since release) has listed crew member skills in the same order when you tap on the crew member on the right and see their info on the left. Also, looking at the skill icons in the crew list on the right (picture, 4 items, stars, SKILL, short name, level), the skills have been listed in the order of CMD, DIP, ENG, SEC, SCI, MED. When I started working on the Wiki back in February, I restructured the crew list to conform to the game order. I also changed the wiki crew pages from the old style listing of "Dominant Skill" first to the order they are as shown in the game. This also helped when contributors added skill data to the wiki as people were putting numbers in the wrong skill because it was out of order from the game screen they were looking at. The "sorting" skill icons at the top of the in-game crew page was added later. And in DB's fashion of inconsistency, they created it in the wrong order and swapped SCI and MED. Template:Level

Hi! Was there a specific reason you introduced the new "levels" 4-6 for the size options, instead of using the existing 1-3? Both default to the original image size, if no option is present. --Crunch (talk) 00:16, 8 June 2016 (CDT)

I was trying to add an option for px sizing and couldn't get it to work right if variable 2 was missing, so for the time being I made 4/5/6 until I could get back and figure it out. Jello (talk) 18:36, 8 June 2016 (CDT)

.css-styling for Scrollbars

Hi Jello! There are now sometimes vertical scrollbars on Away Team mission pages while collecting trait bonus info (e.g. The Prodigal Son). I am not allowed to edit the .css-Files, could you please adjust the styling to match the rest of STTW theming (=make them dark, and probably a bit narrower, not so prominent)? Thanks!
Not sure about the value names, though - probably browser-specific... -.- (cf. stackoverflow.com) Cheers, --Crunch (talk) 13:50, 8 June 2016 (CDT)

I thought that data was hidden with an [expand] option. Guess someone added it with a scroll bar now. To me, having that data there is irrelevant... if it's listed it's a bonus, if not, no one has discovered it or listed it. I will see about the css if I can find it. Jello (talk) 18:36, 8 June 2016 (CDT)
Well, it does help a lot when checking for new bonuses, as many haven't been discovered yet. The data shown there is only temporary - ideally, it should say "No other traits provide a bonus" everywhere. --Crunch (talk) 18:43, 8 June 2016 (CDT)

Template Req

Why'd you change the skill order? The in-game order has Sci last. — CodeHydro (msg) 00:59, 18 June 2016 (CDT)

See above section Skills. Crunch had the same question when I did the same to the Skills pages, and as I stated the sort options were a careless mistake by DB coders. Look at ANY crew member with both SCI and MED, and SCI is always listed above MED: Commando Crusher, CMO Pulaski, Holonovel Doctor, Dr. Phlox, Arik Soong, Surgeon Phlox - all are examples just from my crew list. Every Crew member page lists SCI before MED because when contributors put data into the Wiki, SCI skill points come before MED skill points. Jello (talk) 11:39, 18 June 2016 (CDT)
I can see why you'd make them match skill point order for skill pages, but this one doesn't involve specific skill points so, IMO, listing in crew tab order would make more sense since that's the order people see most often when trying to figure out what crew to choose. — CodeHydro (msg) 18:32, 18 June 2016 (CDT)

Changeling

A new character on the SACharacter Template called "Changeling", for Changeling Bashir, by someone (see history on that page). This is repetitive and confusing. Changeling is a species/trait, not a character. Founder is already there for Changeling Founder. In my opinion, Changeling Bashir should be under BOTH Founder and Bashir, as it would count as both in an event (i would guess). --Admiral Titan (talk) 15:35, 18 June 2016 (CDT)

Also id like to request that this page: Changeling_(Character) be merged onto this page: Founder or this page: Bashir. --Admiral Titan (talk) 15:39, 18 June 2016 (CDT)
The consensus here was, that the CrewNav box should list the same name/abbreviation that is used ingame (where Changeling Bashir is "Changeling", and Changeling Founder is "Founder"), so characters one has in the game are easier to find, and I believe the Character pages are named the same way.
I somehow do agree concerning the Bashir/Changeling differentiation, I too was missing the Changeling version on the Bashir page. However, technically he isn't Bashir, he just looks like him. So Changeling Bashir probably is a unique Character, distinct from both Bashir (except for the looks) and the Founder (he's just the same race, but a different individual). --Crunch (talk) 19:07, 18 June 2016 (CDT)
Those changes was made by me. I created Changeling (Character) and added it to SACharacter Template immidiately when I realized, that Changeling Bashir is ingame named as "Changeling". I think this is the same case as if Sela is Yar - she is not. I also linked character pages of Bashir and Changeling (Character) to each other in similar way as Wesley & Crusher or Keiko & O'Brien.--Koba44 (talk) 02:05, 19 June 2016 (CDT)

Template:DropFrom, A Certain Formality

Hi Jello! I added the 5 new challenge missions to Template:DropFrom. If you find the time, please upload a correct version of the associated file File:Cf.png - I just created a temp version, but I don't have the correct font and size. Cheers! --Crunch (talk) 15:05, 24 June 2016 (CDT)

Thanks for reminding me about this. I have updated and uploaded Cf.png

Items marked as Equip Bonus "None" do give bonus

Hi Jello. While converting crafting tables, you marked some items as giving no ship stat bonus, for example in these revisions of Dominion Seal and Homing Transponder. However, I am quite certain that they do give an eqip bonus (Example: Keevan from L.20 to L.30). Were you actually able to confirm that they don't give any, or was it just an assumption, based on the fact that they already give a skill bonus? If it's the latter, other items might now be marked incorrectly as "None", too :-/ --Crunch (talk) 19:04, 24 June 2016 (CDT)

90% of the added "Equip Bonus" sections are accurate and were based on my own item building. The rest either already had "No ship bonus" in the Skill Bonus section in which case I put "None", or I put "Unknown" if I wasn't sure it had an equip bonus. I try not to just put "None" when I'm not sure but it's not to say that it is always 100% accurate. I have been trying to put REM notes next to the ones that may be questionable but that I have verified. Normally, the only reason I'm on a lot of these item pages is because I'm building something for one of my 115 crew memebers! Jello (talk) 15:00, 26 June 2016 (CDT)

SLINav

Hiho. Note it's no longer necessary to provide the base item parameter to SLINav. In fact, it's actually better to not provide it/remove it: If the parameter is there, the page is "hardcoded" to that base item. If one of the item's images change, breaking the SLI-relation, the page would have to be manually edited to correct this.
However, if all that is on item pages is {{SLINav}}, SLINav can automatically determine the connections.
The old parameter version was left in the template to be able to override the selection, for example on non-item pages.
Hm, come to think of it, I'll just modify the template to always ignore the parameter, and add a named parameter to override the default. --Crunch (talk) 16:56, 7 July 2016 (CDT)

Shinzon

According to the page history you added the 5* L60 stats. I noticed the bonus skill, +(46–108) and +(38–80), for DIP/SEC is more consistent with 1* L.50 than L60. I know you added that a long time ago, but are you sure Shinzon was L60 and not L50 when you took those stats? — CodeHydro (msg) 11:13, 20 July 2016 (CDT)

I went through and mapped out Shinzon from L1 to L90. I used the L100 stats that were there to configure 90-99. I don't remember adding the 5* L60 stats since I only have a 1*. I may have saw the numbers on the forum and added them. It should be fixed. Jello (talk) 21:57, 20 July 2016 (CDT)

Bureaucrat

Hey Jello,
I'd like to suggest that you fill this out https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Steward_requests/Permissions. I think that is the correct location for the request. MilkN2Sugars (talk | Contributions) has been inactive since April, so it would make sense that you were to take over as a Bureaucrat.
Have a good afternoon! --Admiral Titan (talk) 09:34, 30 July 2016 (CDT)

Image uploads

Jello, noticed you uploaded a _ton_ of images, thanks! As we continue to get new items, is there a documented process for getting the nice, clean images? I'm not a graphics person, and trimming screenshots is not producing clean results. Would be happy to follow a process, if it's laid out anywhere.

Welcome Back?

Hi Jello, Is this the same Jello that was on the old wiki? Titantalk 03:11, 27 April 2017 (CDT)

Hey Titan. Yes it is. I've been around, but life got in the way. I got an Orion Slaver and saw there wasn't much submitted for him, so I thought I'd add some stats.

Awesome, welcome back!! I see you found the new site. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a good afternoon, Titantalk 09:16, 27 April 2017 (CDT)
